How it All Started...

On December 10, 1998 at St. John's University in New York, ten astounding women came together to form Sigma Sigma Rho, making it the first south Asian interest sorority of its kind on the east coast.

On this date, our founding mothers established the humble beginnings of an organization that many sisters have since came to embrace and love. These women instilled a sense of strength and purity in this organization. They are the voices with a successful entrepreneurial endeavors that sisters will never cease to hear. They echo in Sigma Sigma Rho's past and help to shape the organization's future.

The vision of the founders remains in the effect, as sisters build on their dreams and principles to create an everlasting sisterhood and a perpetual organization that is strong enough to test time.

The sisters of Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority Inc. are a group of strong, motivated, diverse woman united to work together for educational, charitable, cultural, and social purposes. Sisterhood is what we work for, Society is whom we give, andRemembrance is what lies in our hearts. Our goal is to be able to surpass the vision of typical South Asian women and show society that woman of South Asian descent can do something for themselves, their community, and for people across the nation.
